After busy weather on Sunday, a cold front has moved south and cooler and more comfortable weather has pushed into the state. Lows tonight will be dropping to around 60, with 50s in the mountains. As we see quite often in Summer, the cooler and drier air doesn't stick around for a long time. Heat and humidity will slowly build through Thursday, that's when we expect the next cold front to pass through the state. For Tuesday and Wednesday, the threat for storms should be isolated, with Tuesday's activity confined to the mountains. After the front moves through on Thursday evening with more widespred wet weather, Friday and Saturday look dry and a bit more comfortable. Highs will reach the 80s. Heat and humidity Sunday and Monday will result in the return of a few afternoon storms each day. Below is a picture of a wall cloud in Morgantown during the time a tornado warning was issued for Monongalia county. A wall cloud usually precedes a tornado. The hanging cloud at the bottom of the wall cloud COULD be a funnel cloud. It also could be some debris clouds, hard to tell just by looking at this one picture. Still, a bad storm that caused a lot of damage. JP
